Alabama Aeronautics Commission meeting minutes, 1935-1979.

The Alabama Aeronautics Commission (AAC) was organized to coordinate all activities relating to aeronautics in the state of Alabama. (See Ala. Code, 4-2-30 to 4-2-33 [1975]). The Commission is required by act of law to meet monthly; however, if there was little urgent business to address, the council would occasionally postpone a meeting. These records contain the proceedings of and decisions reached by the Alabama Aeronautics Commission in its formulation of policies and procedures for the Department of Aeronautics. Some of the topics discussed include the aviation gas tax, maintenance of airport facilities, and funding for various projects. The minutes also contain construction reports, financial statements, correspondence, memorandum, and notices of upcoming AAC meetings.
